Construction Phase

This is probably THE most important phase of getting your pool done. Good subs can make the job go more smoothly for the other subs to follow and bad ones will do the opposite. If each phase of the construction goes along without a hitch and in a professional manner, the following subs will find their work that much more easier. Happy subs will generally care more about the outcome of their work.
The importance of picking a good subcontractor can make or break your wallet or the looks of your pool. The best way to find one is to go to a jobsite where they are building a pool and observe or ask for referrals from their LAST 3 to 5 jobs and not just any jobs. Call the owners of those jobs, ask if they are pleased with the work and the timely manner that it was done in, noting the start and completion date in order to verify the truthfulness of the subcontractor. This is the best way but to some, may not be the most practical due to constraints with  their time and schedules.
Make sure that the subs are licensed and bonded although for some phases this may not always be neccesary. One example or reason for this is if you know a family member or friend that has been in the business for a number of years that you can definitely trust. By law, an unlicensed  contractor cannot charge more than $500 per job. This is to protect both the consumer and the worker.
